METRON COMMUNITY IS HERE!

The METRON Community physically meets for the first time today at Landmark's Midtown Art Cinema in beautiful Midtown Atlanta (931 Monroe Drive)...

METRON is the Greek word for measure (poetic), or measuring rod...Paul used it by extension to describe a sphere of influence or place of Spiritual Jurisdiction...interestingly, in physics METRON also means a two-dimensional quantum of multidimensional space,  or a unit of measure in Heim theory.

The understanding of METRONS is vital to every believer because it is the believers who are “sent” out (from the Greek words apo and stello) from the local church to occupy these territories...

“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring (judging) themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure (metron) of the rule (kanon) which God has distributed to us, a measure (metron) to reach even unto you” (2 Corinthians 10:12-13).

Fron Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 3358: μέτρον

μέτρον, μέτρου, τό, the Sept. chiefly for מִדָּה (cf. μήτηρ), measure;

 1. an instrument for measuring; a. a vessel for receiving and determining the quantity of things, whether dry or liquid: in proverbial discourse, μέτρειν μέτρῳ, of the measure of the benefits which one confers on others, Luke 6:38; μέτρον πεπιεσμένον καί σεσαλευμένον, figuratively equivalent to most abundant requital, ibid.; πληροῦν τό μέτρον τῶν πατέρων, to add what is lacking in order to fill up their ancestors' prescribed number of crimes, Matthew 23:32 (see πληρόω, 2 a.); ἐκ μέτρου (A. V. by measure; see ἐκ, V. 3) i. e. sparingly, John 3:34 (also ἐν μέτρῳ, Ezekiel 4:11).

b. a graduated staff for measuring, measuring-rod: Revelation 21:15; with ἀνθρώπου added (man's measure), such as men use, Revelation 21:17; hence, in proverbial discourse, the rule or standard of judgment: Matthew 7:2; Mark 4:24.  2. determined extent, portion measured off, measure or limit: with a genitive of the thing received, Romans 12:3; 2 Corinthians 10:13; (Ephesians 4:7); ἐν μέτρῳ, in proportion to the measure (cf. Winers Grammar, § 48, a. 3 b. and see ἐνέργεια; others, in due measure), Ephesians 4:16; the required measure, the due, fit, measure: τῆς ἡλικίας, the proper i. e. ripe, full age (see ἡλικία, 1 c.) (of a man), Ephesians 4:13 (ἡβης, Homer, Iliad 11, 225; Odyssey 11, 317; Solon 5, 52 (Poet. Min. Gr. (edited by Gaisford) 3:135)).

Our Spiritual Jurisdiction for METRON is not just Midtown Atlanta, it is a state of mind...a Spiritual Community, but not a church in the conventional sense...a place where the Scriptures are honored and respected, but not viewed as the entirety of the Word of God...a gathering of visionaries who are interested in being led into ALL TRUTH by Spirit...a people who acknowledge that they "have heard it said", but are open to a NOW word...

METRON will include these elements:

M is for MOTIVATION...MOTIVATION is defined as
the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way...something that gives you a motive for doing something is your motivation...a motivating force...an incentive or a stimulus...stimulation...when you are motivated, you are inspired...motivation creates enthusiasm and drive...it gives you ambition, initiative, and determination...it is the originator of enterprise...METRON will include effective MOTVATIONAL SPEAKING...

E is for ENLIGHTENMENT... ...it means insight..."light from
within"...understanding...awareness...wisdom...education and learning and knowledge...the person who is enlightened is illuminated and awakened...the word ENLIGHTENMENT was used to describe a European intellectual movement of the late 17th and 18th centuries emphasizing reason and individualism rather than tradition...it was heavily influenced by 17th-century philosophers such as Descartes, Locke, and Newton, and its prominent exponents include Kant, Goethe, Voltaire, Rousseau, and Adam Smith...in Buddhism the word ENLIGHTENMENT means the action of state of attaining or having attained spiritual knowledge or insight, in particular that awareness which frees a person from the cycle of rebirth...METRON will be a catalyst for individuals to recognize their own ENLIGHTENMENT...

T is for TRANSCENDENCE...it means existence or experience beyond the normal or physical level..."the possibility of spiritual transcendence in the modern world"...excellence, supremacy, incomparability, matchlessness and magnificence are all words which are synonymous with TRANSCENDENCE...METRON will inspire people to walk in TRANSCENDENCE...

R is for RENEWAL...it is the replacing or repair of something that is worn out, run-down, or broken...though not a ministry per se, the very nature of the METRON Community will communicate RENEWAL...

O is for OUTREACH...METRON will have a positive effect on the surrounding community...

N is for NETWORKING...METRON will encourage organic NETWORKING, and will create a powerful synergy by connecting people within and without for positive change...

This is going to be a beautiful thing...

Our first Metron today was Awesome! I do not generally throw this term around lightly unless I am actually “awed”. Then I thought of an even better word which is EPIC. This word is now being used like awesome has been for things I do not actually consider epic. The meaning of epic as I am using in this context is, “Heroic or grand in scale or character.” What a wonderful (wonder filled) journey on which we have embarked!!!
