THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING

The Theory of Everything is a beautiful, original and lengthy film, which is inspired by the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Wilde Hawking...the book deals with her relationship with her ex-husband, theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, his diagnosis of motor neuron disease, and his success in the field of physics...

I was interested in seeing it because of Hawking's groundbreaking work in cosmology and Quantum Physics, and especially the evolution of his ideas about the existence of God in relation to these things...the film handles that particular subject matter with objectivity and great sensitivity to both Spiritual and Scientific sensibilities...

There is also some very interesting stuff in it about time, what it actually is, and how it originated, including some intriguing theories about the possibilities of reversing its effects...

When Hawking was diagnosed as a student at Cambridge in the 60's, he was given two years to live...he is now in his 70's...

The film may not be for everyone, but if Eddie Redmayne, doesn't win a 'Best Actor' gold statue for playing (or should I say channeling?) Hawking, he will for sure at least be nominated for one...Oscar loves these kinds of biopics, especially the ones about people with physical challenges, and I've never seen a more convincing portrayal...

We saw it yesterday. It was surely one of the best, if not the best, of the movies I've seen this year! Eddie Redmayne should win for best actor!
